What's the difference between 5" and 6" K-style gutter?

Both are K-style seamless aluminum gutter with the same familiar crown-molding face. The difference is capacity: a 5" channel suits most standard residential roofs, while a 6" channel is wider and moves more water — useful on larger roof areas, steeper pitches, or where fewer downspouts are wanted. Alpha fabricates both to exact lengths.

K-style is the most common gutter profile on homes across Eastern Massachusetts because the flat back mounts cleanly to the fascia and the shape carries more water than a half-round of the same width. Alpha runs both sizes from aluminum coil on the truck-mounted machine, so the runs come out continuous and seamless — no field joints.

Which gutter size should I order for the job?

As a general guide, 5" K-style handles typical residential roofs, and 6" K-style is chosen for larger or steeper roofs, high-runoff areas, or light commercial work where more water capacity helps. The right call depends on roof area, pitch, and downspout count — send those details and Alpha will fabricate the size that fits.

Why seamless instead of sectional gutter?

Seamless gutter is run as one continuous length per side, so there are no mid-run joints to seal or eventually leak. Fewer seams means fewer failure points and a cleaner finished line your clients notice. Alpha fabricates each run to your exact measurement on site — no standard-length splices.

That's the core of every Alpha order: continuous 5" or 6" aluminum gutter cut where the work happens. See how cut & drop fabrication works for the full process.

What colors and accessories come with each profile?

Both 5" and 6" K-style come in 20+ baked-on aluminum color options, with matching downspouts (2×3 and 3×4), elbows, miters, end caps, outlets, hangers, and leaf protection cut to the same order. One stop so your crew isn't chasing parts.

5" & 6" K-Style — Common Questions

Should I use 5-inch or 6-inch K-style gutter?

5-inch K-style is the common size for typical residential roofs, while 6-inch K-style carries more water and is often used on larger roof areas, steeper pitches, or light commercial work. Call 508-496-5173 with your roof details and Alpha will fabricate the size your job calls for.

Is 6-inch gutter worth it over 5-inch?

6-inch K-style has a larger channel and can move more water with fewer downspouts, which matters on bigger or steeper roofs. On a standard residential roof, 5-inch is usually sufficient. Alpha fabricates both to exact lengths so you choose what fits the job.

Does Alpha fabricate both sizes on site?

Yes. Alpha's mobile machine fabricates both 5-inch and 6-inch K-style seamless aluminum gutter to your exact lengths at the job site, in 20-plus colors, with matching downspouts and accessories. Materials only; your crew installs.
